Hallin Marine Earns Top Rating from the Workplace Safety and Health Council
SINGAPORE - November 4, 2011 - Hallin Marine, a Superior Energy Services Company, was awarded the highest level in the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) BizSAFE program earlier this month.
The WSHC was formed by the government of Singapore in 2008 as a statutory body under the Ministry of Manpower with the vision of making Singapore a safe and healthy workplace for everyone; and a country renowned for best practices in workplace safety and health.
The organization aims to reduce Singapore's workplace fatality rate to less than 1.8 per 100,000 workers by 2018.
There are five stages in the WSHC BizSafe program. To earn the distinction of Level 5, Hallin's top management was required to undergo risk assessment training, and the company was required to appoint a Risk Management Champion. In addition, the company is audited and inspected by government-approved auditors to ensure that the company's workplace safety and health management system meets strict requirements.
Joe McWilliam, Hallin's Group QHSE manager, underwent the required training to be named the Risk Management Champion.
