Superior Energy Services Concludes Inaugural Summer Intern Program
New Orleans, LA - August 11, 2011 - Last Friday concluded the inaugural Summer Intern Program at Superior. The program, administered by Superior's Completion Services Division, targets sophomore engineering students — at a pivotal time in their education — to introduce them to various engineering disciplines within the industry so students may make a more informed decision when determining the engineering discipline they will study.
This program provides a comprehensive introduction to Superior Completion Services and its vital role in the oilfield industry, as well as key engineering disciplines and overall business strategies and objectives.
The summer program ran from June 1 to August 5, with interns spending their first five weeks in Houston, TX and the remaining four weeks in Lafayette, LA. Superior selected Ben Davis of Louisiana State University, Ben Richardson of the University of Houston and Marta Mattioli of Texas A&M University - College Station for the program. These three students were selected from hundreds of applicants who applied to an online posting and during several recruiting trips.
For interns who continue on with the summer program through their senior year, Superior will consider post-graduation career opportunities within the company.
The summer intern program was designed to demonstrate Superior's commitment to the future of young engineers and its investment in the energy industry.
